Central Wisconsin is home to a wide variety of wildlife and with some of the best areas in the state for hunting. Hooksetters guides can offer outstanding opportunities and a variety of hunting possibilities. We consider Central Wisconsin to be our back yard. We know it better than any one else, and can put you on game when others cannot.
Bear Hunting
Central Wisconsin is not really known for big black bears and that's the way we like it. With the word not out yet on the numbers of bears that we have in our area the opportunities are endless.
With chances at bears over 400 pounds and regular encounters of 200-to-250-pound animals we have some of the best areas for black bears in the state. We have thousands of acres of land available for our hunters in Marathon, Shawano, Lincoln, and Langlade and Oneida county, that we have worked very hard to acquire. You can be assured that we will do our best to make sure that your hunt with us will be successful and rewarding. Our 2019 Season produced 11 bears for our hunters out of a total of 14 hunters on our 5-day hunts. We had 3 bears over 300 pounds dressed out, and our largest bear was an estimated 450 pounds live weight. Our 2024 season saw our hunters shooting 15 bears out of 16 hunters with 7 of the hunters filling their tags on opening day. Our hunters have shot over 100 bears in the past 8 years.
